Here at Westwoods our staff are trained to the highest standard and are fully qualified to carry out their duties.

All fitness staff are registered with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) the register set up by the Fitness Industry Association. Instructors are graded based on their qualifications and anyone can view this grading on the REPS website.

Morag has been in and around the leisure industry for the last 20 years, she has been a competitive power lifter and at one point coached for the SAF (Scottish Athletics Federation).
She has worked in both the public and private sector as well as being self employed as a Personal Trainer. The last 4 years has seen Morag heavily involved with GP Referral for a wide range of conditions inc weight loss, diabetes, COPD, cardiac rehab and falls prevention. As a result of her GP referral qualifications Morag was one of the first instructors in Scotland to be registered as a level 4 Instructor with REPS.

Background / Speciality:
Having already achieved an HNC in Sports Coaching, David qualified as a YMCA Gym Instructor in 2010.  He initially worked as a lifeguard when he joined the team in 2003 before gradually taking on more gym shifts. David has now been a full time member of the fitness team for two years. He has advanced from a Level II to a level III Reps Instructor and has recently added further qualifications to his CV including Core Stability Training and a Boot Camp Instructors certificate. When not working, David practices what he preaches and regularly runs to work and works out in the gym and pool.

Cliff has been involved in the fitness industry for many years, working with his brother in their private gym in London before moving to Edinburgh. He joined Westwoods in 2006 as a member, before becoming a part time fitness instructor in early 2011. He has played sport since a very young age, mainly football and karate where he obtained a Black Belt in the Goju Ryu style. He has, in the past, worked with football teams on their strength and conditioning training and is particularly interested in group circuit/boot camp training formats. He is currently studying for a REPS level 4 qualification.

Sarah Hannagen

BSc Hons in Health, Fitness and Leisure Studies
Class instructor specialising in aqua fit, circuits, aerobics, LBT and body conditioning.
Sarah is originally from Ireland and brings a fantastic energy and character to the fitness team.  She joined the Westwoods team in July 2013 and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge particularly in strength and condioning and muscle endurance.  She has been involved in running for many years and regularly competes in 10km, mini marathons and has been part of the Westwoods Tough Mudder Team!
